born this frosty morn
what chance an outlook brighter
than this chilled defence
*******
nature's freezing hand-
crystalline intricracies
spread liberally
*******
girl-child's precious hand
encased in winter dressing
enveloped by my own
*******
safe as we slip-slide
our way along the crazed/glazed
pavement beyond our door
I particularly enjoyed the ambiguities of this prompt. Speaking as one, winter-born, who at times could be deemed a little 'frosty' (in the mornings that is.....)

Milly,
These are wonderful. I especially like the image of the hand in yours on a chilly morning. I like your ending commentary, too. God bless.
Writing in Faith
I too enjoyed the poetry and the closing note.
Happy New Year.
Really enjoyed that last one. Have a childhood memory of not being safe on those glazed surfaces; I was rather humbled once on my aching butt.
As one winter-born myself, I hear that often seem frosty at first meeting. :-)
Had trouble using/copying your link, by the way. Came here via your profile page...
A cool series of magical haiku!
I love the line 'nature's freezing hand' and the last haiku I can so relate to, we've been sliding around on the frost a lot lately!
beautiful winter imagery that warms the heart! i love the feel of my children's hands in mine, a sense of protection from the onslaught of deep cold
happy new year!
